My new Fisher Gold Bug Pro DP.... I took the Gold Bug to a known placer area on my property..the goal was not just to see if it picked up on the fine gold but to show me areas of concentration...I got good signals in several spots, but finally after about 10 to 15 min received a really nice sounding signal, graph showed about 5 inches down...basically took one shovel full of material for about 9 inches down, rechecked the hole and signal was almost gone so classified the material and panned it out real quick to see what I had...1.2 grams from that single spot...this is what I was looking for when I ordered the unit...I will test it on coins this weekend but it's main purpose is up to par as far as I am concerned...off hand I think I can recover my investment on one good weekend finding placer gold in concentrated areas of 1 gram or more.
Tim Garton tossed in a nice set of headphones and a Technetic gold pick in the box with the unit....he is on Treasure Hunters (face book group) and just opened his new store last week, he carries almost all the name brands of detectors and accessories.

How has the machine done for you? It's been awhile since you posted.

Actually the machine has worked fine, the reason I have not posted more was that the original post was approximately 19 months ago and no one commented. I found a 4.2 gram nugget shortly after the original post so the machine cost was recovered in just two (2) weekends. I found the Fisher unit to be easy to operate and well worth the purchase. I have a 240 acre placer area that I have been working since I purchased it.
